Note: I’m already home, and have been for the past three weeks. But I’ve fallen behind in posts, so this week I’m catching up.
My family’s last stop was Zambia, where the famous Victoria Falls is located. The waterfall was our last day trip/tourist stop before we departed for home.
Victoria Falls, one of the largest waterfalls in the world, was very picturesque, and crowded. Water gushed down, spraying hundreds of feet into the air. You can easily here it rushing before you could sight it. Mist is everywhere, and in some parts in felt like it was raining. It earned its nickname well, called by locals the Smoke that Thunders.
Victoria Falls, which is a mile wide, is also the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. It’s fed from the great Zambezi River.
The only wildlife here was baboons and a few vervet monkeys.
Now it’s time to take the longest journey of the all – home.
